As food critic I’ve been asked to visit the restaurant BOLLICINE D’AUTORE . My reviews are impartial regardless who pays for my bill.

RESTAURANT

Bollicine D’autore isn’t your typical restaurant but more a place for an aperitif or where to enjoy drinks pre-post dinner.

The ambience offers really nice photos of classic reinterpretation of paintings/pictures. Really nice idea

FOOD

We ordered an antipasti platter for 2, eggs with truffle and other nibbles.

The antipasti platter was really generous and good value for money. We left the restaurant full and satisfied with the food ordered.

The menu offers high quality cured meat but prices are in the high end of the market.

WINE

This is where Bollicine D’autore shows all its full potential thanks also to the selective wine list created by the owner. We had lovely champagne and red wine with a list that included even high rollers such as Sassicaia.

If you don’t know which wine to choose, ask to the owner and you won’t be disappointed (of course high quality wine comes with high price tag)

Please note that the restaurant sells the wine bottles for take away as well however the prices are higher than the classic retail market. My advice is to buy the wine somewhere else.

SERVICE

Good, fast and reliable.

PRICE & FINAL OPINION

I didn’t pay the bill but I’m expecting that a full meal with really high quality wine  will be in the region of 40 euros each.

The price is reasonable considering the good selection of wines and the food offered. Keep in mind that in Lucca with this kind of money you could have a full meal in a local restaurant.
