I’m a huge fan of the Hakkasan group because they have been able to create consistent high quality Chinese restaurants  with a modern touch.

HKK is their finest creation and from day one it was clear that the mission of the restaurant was to achieve 2 michelin stars. Something that restaurants such as Yauatcha and Hakkassan are struggling to achieve due to the super high turnover of customers that they have everyday.

HKK on the contrary offers an amazing tasting menu with few tables available. They still haven’t achieved the 2 stars but I truly hope that they’ll get it in 2017.

We had the opportunity to have also a christmas party in the private room and I can’t deny that it has been a memorable experience.

    The food

For dinner you have a 10-12 courses tasting menu that offers incredible value for money.

The quality is divine and the differences in flavours give you the opportunity to enjoy a memorable experience.

Portions are really small and the food is intended to be enjoyed following the specific instructions of the waiter.

The pecking duck is cut by the chef in front of you and it is served in two parts. Amazingly good.

Vast selection of wine and innovative wine paring with the tasting menu.

    Tips

It is quite easy to find a table at hkk and you don’t have to book really far in advance.

For dinner there is only a tasting menu with fixed courses. Once I went there with my pregnant wife and they were able to accommodate her requests.

Of course for allergies and questions is better to get in touch with the restaurant in advance considering that they serve only the tasting menu.

    The Business Side

Hakkassan group is one of the most profitable chains that I know.

Yautcha and Hakkassan highway have incredible turnover of tables (hundreds a day) and the average price is over 100£ per person.

So the group has created this restaurant without the idea of making it another financial success but of the prestige of the second Michelin star.

It is like a flagship restaurant like burberry has their flagship shop in regent street.

Unfortunately the restaurant isn’t successful in terms of covers and it is pretty easy to find a table on the same day.

    Brand awareness

HKK as restaurant isn’t really famous as YAUATCHA and HAKKASAN.

I believe that only who works in the area or is a food lover knows this place. So in that sense in my opinion they should try to get more customers in it especially now that the restaurant has been up and running for over 3 years.

    Social Media

Of course the hakkasan group has a strong team of marketers so facebook, instagram and twitter are working well.
